Given that The Vision has now appeared in three of the highest grossing movies of all-time, many collectors would expect that classic green and yellow Vision comic book styled figures would be easily obtainable. However, this version of Vision has only appeared a few times in his most iconic look over the past 21 years, and those 6″ figures are expensive to track down. Luckily, Hasbro has come to fans’ rescue once again with an all-new 2024 Marvel Legends Vision figure as part of the Void Series!
It may seem like just yesterday that Hasbro released their (non-white) Retro Vision Marvel Legends action figure in vintage Toybiz styled packaging, but that was over half a decade ago. The vintage-packaged fandom has grown, and many new collectors have entered the sphere. The price and rarity of that figure have escalated beyond what many fans are comfortable paying. However, with The Vision now being more well-known and popular than ever before, there needed to be a new figure in circulation. Hasbro could have simply reissued the ML Vision Retro figure, but instead, they improved it to give us their best classic comic Vision figure ever.
While the metallic green paint used on the previous 2018 figure is reasonable for a character made of metal, the matte green paint on this new version looks more authentic to the source material. The updated knee and elbow joints without visible pins also greatly improve the aesthetics of this figure. In addition, instead of just a severed Ultron head, we now get two open hands as accessories (and a “severed” Void Build-A-Figure head). The open hands add variety to the poses possible and are a welcome addition to the fists that were the only hands with the Retro release.
The only complaint about this figure is the lack of accessories. Last year’s Vision Marvel Select figure came with an alternate head and energy effects pieces, while this one only includes a couple of extra hands. The omission of effects makes the poses achievable with this figure feel rather boring in comparison.
In terms of articulation, this figure has everything most fans would ask for. The joints are smooth and tight, and the paintwork is masterfully done. Quality-wise, this is an exemplary Hasbro action figure. Overall, this Marvel Legends Vision figure is solid with its classic comic book look and modern pin-free articulation. However, the lack of accessories to enhance display options is disappointing.
