On Friday, during the annual Summer Game Fest’s titular presentation, Marvel announced Deadpool VR, a gory new exclusive for the Meta Quest 3 & 3S headsets, starring Neil Patrick Harris (Spider-Man: The New Animated Series) as Wade Wilson.
After being pulled through a portal to Mojoworld, Deadpool sees a chance to get rich — like really rich. He signs a sketchy contract without reading any of the fine print and then it’s off to visit a bunch of locations from across the Marvel Universe, battling against iconic (and not-so-iconic) villains. It’s real metaverse stuff — in the Marvel Universe sense, not the VR one.
Created by Oculus Studios subsidiary Twisted Pixel (‘Splosion Man), the game will be released sometime later this year. By the way, if you’re wondering how Ryan Reynolds feels about Harris taking on the role, he’s taking it pretty well.
The House of Ideas also announced She-Hulk and Rocket Raccoon will be playable characters in Marvel Cosmic Invasion, the retro beat-em-up in development from TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge creators Tribute Games, due out on most platforms later this year.
Tribute Games had another announcement at Summer Game Fest: Scott Pilgrim EX. Featuring an original story by creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, the four-player co-op brawler will also bring back Scott Pilgrim Takes Off co-writer BenDavid Grabinski, artist Paul Robertson, and composers Anamanaguchi.

Scott Pilgrim EX takes players on a wild ride through the sprawling streets of Toronto, battling 3 new enemy factions across space and time! The game will released in association with Universal on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 & 5, and Xbox Series X/S sometime next year.
On Sunday, during the Xbox Games Showcase, Skybound studio Quarter Up revealed Invincible VS, a characteristically bloody 3v3 fighting game for the comic-turned-Prime Video cartoon. It will be released on Xbox Series X/S, PC, and (yes) PlayStation 5 in 2026. Together with the reveal of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, and the launch of the demo for Little Nemo and the Guardians of Slumberland earlier in the week, that concludes the comics-related news from this year’s Summer Game Fest.
Now for some news about projects not based on comics we’re excited about:
Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth main entry in the series, will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Steam on February 27, 2026, just in time for the 30th anniversary of the original game. Little else was specified about the project, although it appears new protagonist Grace Ashcroft will head to the bombed ruins of Raccoon City, where the first three games were set.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle‘s DLC The Order of Giants will be available on all platforms on September 4, 2025. Set during the Vatican section of the main game, the DLC will see Dr. Jones head into (and beneath) Rome itself, where he will uncover more about the Nephilim Order, and cross paths with the Cult of Mithras. Players can also expect the return of Father Ventura and Mussolini, to “face off against foes in Emperor Nero’s secret gladiator games, and [the] reveal [of] the legend of a colossal beast.”
IO Interactive, who unveiled their James Bond origin story 007 First Light earlier last week, launched a timed promotional crossover in Hitman: World of Assassination, featuring Mads Mikkelsen reprising his role as Le Chiffre from 2006’s Casino Royale. Players will have until July 6 to kill the seminal Bond baddie in the free DLC. 007 First Light will follow sometime on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X/S sometime in 2026.
The Wu-Tang Clan will be at the center of Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver, a co-op action RPG by the new studio Brass Lion Entertainment. In it, Ghostface Killah will pass on the legendary hip hop supergroup’s “fantastical powers” to players “to save their home of Shaolin” from the evil Deceiver, who’s kidnapped the other Wu-Tang members. It will include classic Wu-Tang songs, and all-new material, and can be wishlisted now on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Jurassic World Evolution 3, the latest in Frontier‘s park management simulator series, will be released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on October 21. Unfortunately, the game’s Steam page states it uses generative AI for the avatars of the scientist characters, so that’s not cool. Much cooler then, is Deathground, a co-op survival horror game, featuring much more paleo-accurate dinosaurs, coming to Steam Early Access in Q3 2025.
