Welcome back to Upcoming Comics! This week’s list is shorter than usual, with only three titles, one of which is the latest event. Can you believe that DC is having less than 28 events a year? It’s hard to imagine! But don’t worry, I’ll still have a job as long as you keep buying mega-events and Batman comics. Buy as many copies as you can, because I have a big family to support, and some of my kids are in wheelchairs.
Upcoming Comics:
1. Titans: Beast World #4: Amanda Waller, with her team of DCU’s greatest minds and killers, unleashes her master plan to remake the world. With the Titans out of the picture, do the beasts stand a chance? The hunt begins here!
2. Outsiders #3: The Outsiders face a mysterious door on their ship, opened by the Drummer using Multiversal coordinates from a dream. Stepping through this door will take them on a mission into the unknown reaches of the Multiverse. What awaits them in this strange world?
3. Batman and Robin #5: Batman and Robin are separated. Batman teams up with White Rabbit to track down the new femme fatale, Shush, while Damian hunts down the criminal mastermind targeting his father. A shocking ending awaits!
Thoughts:
– Titans: Beast World: My initial enthusiasm for this event is waning, especially with Waller being behind everything again.
– Outsiders: Oh no, more multiverses. Not very excited about this title at the moment.
– Batman and Robin: The opening arc feels lackluster, and teasing the identity of “Shush” isn’t cutting it for me.
Beyond the Bat:
– Graphic Novel Watch: Sometimes you need more than floppies. Check out these bat collections coming out this week.
Ratings:
– Most Excited: Batman and Robin #5. I have faith in Williamson’s ability to write a good Damian story.
– Least Excited: Outsiders #3. Not much appeal in this title currently.
– Wild Card: Titans: Beast World #4. For an event, it could be worse.
That’s it for this week! Let us know in the comments which comics you’re looking forward to. COMMENTS
