It’s official: Milly Alcock has been cast as Supergirl in both Superman: Legacy and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
Following multiple rounds of rumors, and screen test earlier this month, Alcock has been cast as Supergirl for the DCU.
Alcock is best known for playing Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in House of the Dragon.
The final round of tests had her and Meg Donnelly (Disney Channel’s Zombies) testing for the role. Some has believed she would have a leg up having already voiced Supergirl in the DC animated movies Legion of Superheroes and Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part One.
While Supergirl will be getting her own film – Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow – she is reportedly set to make her debut in Superman: Legacy. Actress and playwright Ana Nogueira is currently writing the script for the Supergirl solo film, but no director has been attached as of yet.
Alcock will be joining a growing cast for the upcoming Superman film. The cast is set to include David Corenswet as Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. They will all be joined by Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, and María Gabriela de Faría as the Engineer.
Superman: Legacy will hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
