Next month, fans can look forward to the release of Invincible Season 2 and the first original video game in the Invincible universe, Invincible Presents: Atom Eve. Developed by Terrible Posture Games, this highly anticipated game allows players to explore the adventures of Atom Eve, a beloved character in the Invincible series. Set to be available on November 14th, the Atom Eve video game was discussed during a panel at New York Comic Comic moderated by Ashley Esqueda. The panel included Skybound Creative Director Mike Rogers, Terrible Posture Games Creative Director Jill Murray, Art Director Rossi Gifford, Animation Director Lauren Lehmann, and writer Mary Arroz. According to Rogers, the Atom Eve video game has been in the works for quite some time, with the idea coming around the same time as the development of the animated Atom Eve Special episode. Murray described the game as a visual novel with elements of combat and RPG. Players will have the ability to customize the character and engage in combat to progress through the story. While the game has its own canon and continuity, it loosely aligns with the events of Invincible Season 1. Murray explained that the game presents the events of the Invincible animated show from Atom Eve’s perspective, offering a fresh take on familiar events. One interesting aspect of the game is the ability for players to make choices that will affect Atom Eve’s combat style. There are three different paths to choose from – Empath, Creator, and Firebrand – each with its own unique skills and impact on Eve’s behavior in the story. The panelists also discussed the extensive research process involved in creating the game, including a comprehensive spreadsheet. Rossi, who served as the art director for the game, expressed her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to work on such a significant project. She aimed to stay true to the source material while adapting it for an interactive video game experience. The art director also highlighted the attention to detail in the game’s visuals, including small touches like a doormat by Atom Eve’s bedroom window. Additionally, Murray hinted at a steamy storyline involving Atom Eve’s bedroom. The panelists acknowledged the presence of familiar villains from the animated series, such as Killcannon and the Mauler Twins, while also introducing a new character, alien ruler Universa. Before concluding the panel, Lehmann expressed her appreciation for being part of a project that featured many women in prominent positions. Overall, the Atom Eve video game promises to be an exciting addition to the Invincible universe, offering fans a chance to further explore the character and her world.
