Australian indie comic Greener Pastures has built a global following over its 30+ year history. To celebrate its cult classic status, co-creator and artist Tim McEwen is launching a new story set in the 1990s. Greener Pastures #8 will showcase art by Dave Sim, Nicola Scott, Jon Sommariva, Chris Wahl, Mark Sexton, Al Barrionuevo, Dean Rankine, Ashley Wood, and more, with McEwen handling the inking for consistency.
McEwen reached out to industry friends for this special return, drawing on his connections in the Australian comics scene to bring together a talented team for the new issue. Originally planned for publication in 1997 under the title “Sex & Violence,” the script has been reworked and renamed “Sweet Sweet Release,” promising an exciting adventure for protagonist Trevor Bovis at The Berlin Club.
Following the Kickstarter campaign for Greener Pastures #8, the series will continue with new tales already in the works. McEwen aims to break records and inspire the next generation of indie comic creators with this long-running title. The cover for Greener Pastures #8 and preview pages can be seen on the Kronos Comics website.
In addition to the mentioned contributors, Greener Pastures will also feature work by various other artists, including McEwen’s children, Samuel and Annabelle. The series, created by McEwen and Michael Michalandos in 1990, has received awards and recognition for its innovative storytelling. The Kickstarter for Greener Pastures #8 is open until March 8, with more information available at GreenerPasturesComic.com.
