Welcome back to another installment of Indie Comics Showcase, the weekly blog where we signal boost a few truly independent comics that are currently crowdfunding their projects, crowdsourcing their funding in some way, or just completely self-publishing on their own. Every little bit of support for these creators matters, from a single dollar pledge to the twenty-five dollar bundle, and of course the higher tiers are usually fun too! Even if you can’t back a campaign or buy a book, you can share or tweet about these projects to your friends and followers.
On Indie Comics Showcase, we interview the creators, show off some art, and tell you how you can check out the product for yourself. Below we have some outstanding crowdfunding campaigns this week for you to learn about, enjoy, and hopefully support by backing one or more of them! Thanks for checking these out and for being the best part of Indie Comics Showcase. Let’s jump in!

Chris Braly: Welcome to Indie Comics Showcase. Hit me with the elevator pitch for Relentlessly Bullied Hero.
Hero Darkydark: After a bonding deal with a bored villainess one hero goes on a crusade to revive his deteriorating city’s soul! The death of a city’s star hero caused a degradation of morale in society, during such a time others need to step up bring back the standards, that were the intentions of Zeal. Unfortunately, that’ll be harder then expect as Grimoira, a veteran villain, has decided to cure her boredom by constantly messing with him.
CB: Where did the idea for this comic come from, and made you decide to self-publish it?
HD: Hero media like My Hero Academia, One Punch Man, Justice League Unlimited were big inspiration. But I also was big on character dynamics bringing in interest to how we care about the characters themself, so shows like Uzaki want to hang out also had it’s effect. For why I went self-publishing, just the freedom to take the story and characters how I want without fear of intervention is preferable. It also gives me more freedom on what I can do with the franchise.
CB: What kind of comic readers is this suited for and who is it aimed at?
HD: 18-24, mostly males but I can see girls being into this as well. If you like heroes, action, under-dog stories, and fun character dynamics, this’ll be for you.
CB: Tell us about your style and creative process, and how you developed them
HD: I often just think of a idea and watch it snowball into what it becomes. Of course there’s editing revision and such, but I’m very much of “hey I want to reach a story that’s this” kind of guy. Of course, playing games, reading manga, and such also help me develope as it’s good to constantly remind myself why I was so big on creating to begin with and what inspired me.
CB: Who is on the creative team and how far along is the production?
HD: It’s just me as writer and creator, and my Artist Jose Two man team and we’re all we need. The book is currently 100% completed
CB: What have you been learning from self-publishing / crowdfunding and creating through this process?
HD: Marketing and getting eyes on your book is almost as important as anything else you’re working on.
CB: What are your plans beyond this book? Are there more stories to tell?
HD: Yeah this book can easily be turned into a story, which I plan to. I also got other projects in mind like Storm Rail Riderz, and The Galloptier.
CB: Anything else you would like to share with our readers before we sign off?
HD: Don’t look at this book as some kind of deconstruction of heroes, this is more of a reconstruction as we get back to see people strive to be real heroes in their own eyes.
CB: Sounds great. Good luck on the campaign!

Chris Braly: Welcome back to Indie Comics Showcase, Isaac. Catch our readers up on your SuccuBUSTED series.
Isaac Fox: Arriving in issue #3, Liam and Rita are ambushed my a monstrous fetish! And we’re not talking ball gags and leashes… yet. It’s gonna take more than explicit nudity and lusty antics to get out of this one! Can they defeat this monster or will they be pounded into submission? The foreplay is over! Grab your badge, some handcuffs, and ensure your equipment is well lubricated. It’s time to get SuccuBUSTED!
CB: What inspired this series?
IF: SuccuBUSTED! takes inspiration from Men in Black, High School DXD, Monster Musume, The Divine Comedy, and Bleach. Our studio publishes all of our comics and we’re proud to say SuccuBUSTED! is our top seller.
CB: Who is the series aimed at?
IF: Definitely an 18+ crowd due to nudity and suggestive content. If you’re a fan of ecchi manga/anime and you want a comic with sensible and sexy fan service complete with waifu characters who can dominate on and off the battlefield, you’re in the right place.
CB: How did you develop this concept?
IF: I spend a great deal of time developing characters. Everything from their favorite ice cream to which eye is dominant. Doing this helps me create a character who is both relatable and desirable. Rather than force characters to become icons of particular attributes, I keep them rounded. Just because a fantasy is a fantasy doesn’t mean it can’t be believable.
CB: Who is on your creative team?
IF: Mitsu-Blinger is the lead artist of this book. She has such an expressive style and is a master of arranging panels for the best possible delivery of ecchi gags and action. She’s loves the characters in SuccuBUSTED! so much you can feel that passion in every panel. Krius, our chief colorist, has a warm, welcoming style which makes these characters practically pop off the page. The combination of these amazing artists creates a comic which is easy on the eyes but hard on… well, after reading a few pages you’ll know.
CB: What’s your production status? How far along is everything?
IF: Any time we go to Kickstarter the book and all add ons, stretch goals, etc… are completed. All which remains is sending things off to the print shop. We workshop ideas, write out a script, edit it until it’s polished to the best it can be, then hand the script to the lead artist. After that, the book goes to coloring. Editing is done with each step of the process.
CB: This isn’t your first rodeo. What have you learned from self-publishing and crowdfunding?
IF: I’ve learned the importance of appreciating and working with your audience. Your backers/readers/fans are why you’re here. Take care of them. Don’t worry about what everyone else is doing. The only person you should be trying to beat is who you were yesterday. Do that and treat your backers with respect. It’s the most important lesson I’ve learned.
CB: Can we expect more SuccuBUSTED stories after this?
IF: SuccuBUSTED! #4 is over halfway complete and will drop in 2025. There is also a one shot coming which explores the stories and relationships of some of the side characters titled SuccuBUSTED! Queens. We’re also working on a second arc where a new succubus and an incubus join in the fray! This year, we are also bringing back our naughty pinup book, Foxxy Vacations which will see characters from across our universes going to an adults only naughty cosplay convention. Wardrobe malfunctions are mandatory.
CB: Any special features in this issue we should look for?
IF: We like to do covers sets revolving around a centralized theme. This time, we have a set of DND inspired covers called the D20 set. These range from nice, to naughty, to ultra wet ‘n naughty. Following this trend, and taking some inspiration from adult video games, we have two covers we call the “good end” and the “bad end.” Will you defeat the succubus queen or will you end up becoming her newest pet?
CB: Sounds good. Anything else you would like to share with our readers before we sign off?
IF: Astral Ticket comics are thoroughly anti AI “art” and only offer content made by actual people. When you back or buy a comic from us, you’re putting food on a real person’s table. We’re a small mom and pop American business. Our books are made here in America. We’ve put our hearts and souls into…
