With a live-action Teen Titans movie in the works, it could open the door for Deathstroke to finally get his movie franchise.
We’ve been teased a couple of times before. There were the live-action Slade Wilsons in Arrow and Titans, respectively, but Joe Manganiello had fans begging for a movie when he appeared in full, comics-accurate costume in the Justice League post-credits scene. As awful as JL was, it may have been for the best that we didn’t get more DCEU Deathstroke, but there’s no arguing that Manganiello fit the part.
Once James Gunn became co-chair of DC Studios, he teased Deathstroke on social media, which sparked rumors of a forthcoming movie. While nothing else has been said regarding Slade, it’s logical to assume he will appear in the Teen Titans movie. After all, he’s been the team’s most famous adversary since he debuted in 1980.
With a chance to see Deathstroke on the silver screen, it will make New Teen Titans #2 even more appealing, and now is a good time to invest. Two years ago, the graded 9.8 averaged over $1k. For the past 90 days, the fair market value has dipped below $700. If that’s more than you’re willing to spend, opt for Slade’s first self-titled series in Deathstroke: The Terminator #1. The last 9.8 to trade hands online sold for $80 in February, though the second print brought $250 in 2021.
