Looks like the Spider-Man franchise has been “caged” once more.
After lending his voice to the variant Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Nicolas Cage has been tapped to reprise the role in Amazon’s upcoming live-action series about the same character.
Simply titled Noir, the series will the story “of an aging and down on his luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.”
Oren Uziel (21 Jump Street) is set as the writer of the project and will serve alongside The Punisher co-showrunner Steve Lightfoot as co-showrunner and executive producer. Further details on cast and crew are being kept under wraps.
Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal will also executive produce. Harry Bradbeer will executive produce and direct the first two episodes. Pascal executive produces via Pascal Pictures.
