The Superman cast has added Mikaela Hoover and Christopher MacDonald as Cat Grant and Ron Troupe respectively.
It appears that the Daily Planet newsroom is going to be a bustling place. It was reported on Friday, and then confirmed by James Gunn, that Hoover and MacDonald have indeed joined the cast.
Cat Grant first appeared in The Adventures of Superman #424 in 1987 and has had many incarnations since then in the comics and in live-action. Ron Troupe was introduced in The Adventures of Superman #480 in 1991.
These are just the latest additions to the Daily Planet bullpen with Beck Bennett having been announced as Steve Lombard earlier this week.
The majority of Superman filming has been happening in Atlanta, Georgia, with some earlier filming having taken place in Norway. Currently, the crews are in LaGrange, Georgia, which is standing in for Smallville, Kansas.
The cast is set to include David Corenswet as Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. They will all be joined by Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, and María Gabriela de Faría as the Engineer.
Superman will hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
