A Midnight Sons movie has been rumored for months now despite Marvel Studios struggling to get Blade and Ghost Rider lifted off the ground. Well, a new rumor has surfaced providing us a promising update.
According to Nexus Point News, the studio has tapped Michael Green to pen the script for Midnight Sons. The hiring would make a lot of sense as Green recently penned the latest draft of Blade. Additionally, longtime Marvel producer Stephen Broussard has been brought on to produce the project. It is important to not that Marvel Studios has yet to officially confirm Midnight Sons, so it is important to take this new with a small grain of salt.
In the comics, the Midnight Sons are like the supernatural Avengers, which has supernatural heroes including Ghost Riders Danny Ketch and Johnny Blaze, Blade, and Morbius. Additional members have included Moon Knight, Werewolf by Night, Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange, Man-Thing, Wong, and Iron Fist.
As for Green, he has written or co-written several feature film screenplays, including Logan, Alien: Covenant, Blade Runner 2049, Jungle Cruise, and all 3 Kenneth Branagh-led Hercule Poirot films for 20th Century Studios. He most recently penned the aforementioned Blade and a script for the film adaptation of the acclaimed video game BioShock for Netflix.
