Baldur’s Gate 3 is set to improve this year.
Larian Studios has officially announced that a highly anticipated, major feature will be added to Baldur’s Gate 3 this year. Baldur’s Gate 3 was released last year, initially on PC, followed by PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It not only stood out as one of the most popular games of the year but also received the highest ratings, surpassing games like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and Street Fighter 6. However, there are still some missing features and areas for improvement. A significant addition from the former category is expected to arrive this year.
Recently, the director of publishing at Larian Studios confirmed on X (formerly known as Twitter) that official mod support will be introduced to the game this year. The exact release date has not been disclosed yet. If the release was imminent in the next few months, it would likely have been announced, indicating a release in the latter part of the year.
The extent of mod support for consoles remains to be seen. Nevertheless, console players need not worry about missing out on mods, as Larian Studios has assured that mod support will also be available on consoles, albeit with potential differences compared to PC.

“It’s almost poetic that Baldur’s Gate 3 should carry on the torch that BioWare ignited and then passed on years ago,” a quote from our official review of the game states. “Baldur’s Gate 3 represents the untapped potential of the CRPG genre. While it may be overwhelming for newcomers, it offers an engaging experience that any fan of the genre should not miss.”
