Warner Bros. Japan recently announced that a Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League animated animated film is in development. We don’t yet have a release date, but we do know many of the production leads from the original Batman Ninja movie will be returning. It will be directed by Jumpei Mizusaki and Shinji Takagi, with screenplay by Kazuki Nakashima, character design by Takashi Okazaki, music by Yugo Kanno, and animation production by Kamikaze Douga. Koichi Yamadera will also be reprising his role as Batman for the Japanese dub of the film.
Released in 2018, the original Batman Ninja saw Batman transported from Gotham City to feudal Japan, along with his allies and villains. There, he must find a way back home in a land taken over by his collection of insane adversaries. What results is an action-packed spectacle filled with samurai sword fights, armies of ninja monkeys, and giant fighting robots. Its distinct, stylized anime art style sets it apart as a memorable experience for any Batman fan.
We will learn more about Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League at Anime Expo 2024 on July 4, where a panel will be held for this movie along with Suicide Squad: Isekai.
