Camouflaj, the creators of our 2020 Game of the Year and 2022 VR Game of the Year, Marvel’s Iron Man VR, have officially revealed their highly anticipated next project, diving once again into the world of superheroes.
After their successful partnership with Marvel on their last title, Camouflaj is now collaborating with DC Comics for their latest project, Batman: Arkham Shadow, the newest installment in the Arkham series. A brief 50-second teaser has been released, setting the tone for Arkham Shadow as we follow a rat through the rainy streets of Gotham City, reminiscent of a classic Arkham predator sequence.
Scheduled for a late 2024 release, Batman: Arkham Shadow will be exclusive to the Meta Quest 3 VR headset. A cinematic trailer is set to be unveiled in 36 days as part of Geoff Keighley’s Summer Games Fest.
It will be intriguing to see how Batman: Arkham Shadow fits into the overarching Arkham saga that began with Rocksteady Studios. Will the game take place within the 5-year gap between Batman: Arkham Knight and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League?
Another point of interest is who will voice Batman in this new installment. With Kevin Conroy’s passing in 2022, fans are curious if he recorded his dialogue before his death. Despite initial beliefs that his last performance was in Kill the Justice League, Kevin Conroy will reprise his role in the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths animated adaptation.
Batman: Arkham Shadow is set to release in late 2024 as an exclusive title for the Meta Quest 3 VR platform.
