For one of the original Avengers it is a “brand new day” indeed.
Production on Marvel/Sony’s next Spider-Man movie is still in its early stages. However, a new rumor suggests that Tom Holland’s Peter Parker will have some help dealing with his next nemesis.

According to Nexus Point News, Mark Ruffalo will be appearing in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. However, at this time, the outlet can only confirm that he’ll appear as Bruce Banner. The site also reports that the appearance won’t be a cameo, and that his role will be “substantial.”
Considering that all of the other Spider-Man films have featured Peter Parker teaming up with another hero (Iron Man, Nick Fury, Doctor Strange), this is not entirely surprising. But it will be interesting to see how the two interact because so far they have not shared any screen time together.
Because this info has yet to be confirmed by a major trade or Marvel/Disney, as always we urge you to take it with a grain of salt. Still, Nexus Point News has proven to be a trustworthy source in the past, so there’s a chance this could be entirely true.
This would mark Ruffalo’s tenth overall appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, before also appearing in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Both films which he hasn’t entirely been confirmed to be a part of, but which leaked concept art totally shows he will be.
So far, only three actors are officially confirmed to star in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Tom Holland, Sadie Sink and Liza Zayas-Colon. There’s still no official confirmation if Zendaya or any other actor from the Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Home trilogy will make a comeback to this fourth installment – though we expect that to change in the coming months.
We shall see once it hits production sometime this year and set to released July 31, 2026.
Holland is currently filming Christopher Nolan’s fantasy Greek epic The Odyssey in Greece as we speak.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be directed by Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton and co-produced by Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal.
