Majors, who captivated audiences with his portrayal of Kang in 2023’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and the series “Loki,” was poised to be a key figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, his involvement came to a halt due to a legal battle stemming from an assault conviction involving his ex-girlfriend in December.
As fans reel from this unexpected turn of events, rumors suggest Domingo might take on the role of Kang. The 54-year-old actor, known for his performances in “Euphoria” and beyond, has finally addressed the speculation.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Domingo discussed the rumors: “My team has had conversations with Marvel about the MCU for years. Do I know if it’s true? I don’t. I feel like my team wouldn’t bring it up unless it’s real. So, I could be in talks, but I’m not sure. I’d be open to discussing it.”
Domingo expressed his willingness to step into the role if given the chance, acknowledging Majors’ legacy in the MCU: “Whatever they are working out with Jonathan [Majors] and his legacy, I feel like I have to focus on my own path. There are talks, but until it’s real, I don’t know. But I would be interested.”
While Marvel Studios remains quiet about their plans for Kang, reports suggest a rewrite and retitle for the next Avengers film, set for release in May 2026.
Meanwhile, Domingo’s career is thriving, with an Oscar nomination for Best Lead Actor for his role in Netflix’s biopic “Rustin.” Reflecting on this achievement, Domingo shared his gratitude on Instagram.
As the story of Kang the Conqueror unfolds and the Marvel Universe progresses, fans eagerly await updates on the fate of this enigmatic character and whether Domingo will indeed take on the role.
