At last, we have a release window for the DCU’s first project, Creature Commandos. The animated series will debut on Max sometime in December 2024.
The series has been promised as a 2024 release for some time now, but no firm release date had been shared. James Gunn confirmed the release month on Wednesday evening.
This will mark the first project released for the new DC Universe.
The full cast of the series includes Indira Varma (Obi-Wan Kenobi) as the main protagonist of the series, Bride of Frankenstein. She will be joined by Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., David Harbour (Stranger Things, Black Widow) as Eric Frankenstein, Zoe Chao (Your Place or Mine) as Nina Mazursky, Sean Gunn as G.I. Robot & Weasel, Alan Tudyk (Doom Patrol) as Doctor Phosphorous, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, and Anya Chalotra as Circe.
As James Gunn has said previously in his role as co-chair of DC Studios, actors cast in this series will play their roles “across all media.” This means that should they appear in live-action productions or video games, you can expect to hear the same voices. This plan has been confirmed with the news that Grillo will appear as Rick Flag Sr. in Peacemaker season 2.
