Amanda Waller has been working behind the scenes of almost every DC event since 2022’s Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths to undermine the Earth’s heroes. From creating evil doppelgangers to transforming the world’s population into animals, no act has been too far if it meant sowing distrust of metahumans. Thanks to her efforts, the Justice League is disbanded and she has the world’s governments granting her complete authority. This Summer, she makes her next move in Absolute Power.
Following the events of Superman: House of Brainiac, Waller will team up with the Brainiac Queen and Failsafe to form a Trinity of Evil. Combining their knowledge and skills, they’ll attempt to permanently deal with the world’s superheroes by stealing their powers. Only the heroic trinity of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman stand in the way of their dark counterparts.
Led by writer Mark Waid and artist Dan Mora, the story kicks off with 2024 Absolute Power Free Comic Book Day Special Edition on May 4th. The comic will include a recap of some of DC’s recent events, a 12-page prelude, and a sneak peak at Absolute Power #1. Then, in June, Absolute Power: Ground Zero will bridge the events of Superman: House of Brainiac with this story as the villains join forces. Finally, the event’s main four-part miniseries begins on July 2nd.
