Marvel’s first trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine has arrived, and it was enough to bolster sales for Wolverine #88 values. Surprisingly, it brought Wolverine #1 along for the ride.

Deadpool made his MCU debut in style. As the Chiefs marched to their third Super Bowl win, Disney wrote a large check to feature Deadpool & Wolverine in the famed commercial time during the biggest game of the year. Almost instantly, buyers flooded eBay for copies of the duo’s first meeting in 1994’s Wolverine #88.
While there were plenty of copies trading hands online, the values for graded comics were slightly up. The 9.6 appears to be the biggest seller, and it earned a high of $211.71 as of the time of writing. Before the trailer dropped, it hadn’t earned more than $175 in 2024.
But Wolverine #88 wasn’t the only issue that got a bump from the Super Bowl ad. Collectors and investors were swiping their debit and credit cards for 1988’s Wolverine #1 as well.
It’s not often that ‘88’s Wolverine #1 overshadows the 1982 limited series, but Sunday was a rare exception. Several buyers were aiming for the 9.6, which had been averaging $107 for the past three months. Sunday, one copy sold for nearly $150, so prices were rising.
As the excitement wanes, we’ll need to keep an eye on those fair market values to see if things begin to dip.
