Digimon is celebrating its 25th Anniversary of the anime franchise with a new visual showcasing all of its series over the years. Since its inception as a digital pet game, Digimon has expanded into a massive anime franchise with sequels, movies, games, trading card games, and more. The franchise has marked many milestone anniversaries in the past, and now it celebrates its 25th year in the anime industry.
On March 6th, 1999, the original Digimon Adventure movie premiered in Japan, followed shortly by the debut of the TV anime. Over the years, young DigiDestined have faced formidable foes, as depicted in the special new poster released for the 25th anniversary celebration. From Tai to Hiro, the visual highlights the journey of Digimon over the past 25 years.
What’s Next for Digimon’s 25th Anniversary?
The celebration continues with Digimon Con 2024, streaming live on March 9 at 7pm PST/10pm EST on Digimon Partners’ official YouTube channel. Voice actors Chika Sakamoto (Agumon), Mayumi Yamaguchi (Gabumon), and Atori Shigematsu (Piyomon) will be in attendance, with exciting plans for the event. Toei Animation shared a message expressing gratitude to all the fans who have followed the adventures of Digimon and teased future developments for the franchise.
