Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy 14 could potentially be available on the upcoming Nintendo Switch successor in the future. In an interview with Easy Allies during the Dawntrail media tour, director and producer Naoki ‘Yoshi-P’ Yoshida expressed his long-standing goal of making the MMO accessible on all devices.
Yoshi-P cited the recent launch of Final Fantasy 14 on Xbox as an example of the team’s efforts to bring the game to new platforms. While discussing the possibility of a release on the future Nintendo platform, he stated, “We would love to have our title available on the Nintendo platform and we do want to continue our efforts on it.”
Despite the challenges faced with bringing the game to Xbox, Yoshi-P reassured fans that the team will continue to work hard to explore the possibility of Final Fantasy 14 on the new Nintendo Switch. He acknowledged that it would be a cool opportunity and something Square Enix is eager to make a reality in the future.
Until then, players may have to resort to using a controller on their PC to enjoy the game on the go. In other news, Final Fantasy 14 fans recently achieved a remarkable feat by clearing a dungeon without any healers, sparking discussions within the community about the role’s importance.
