Members of the Five Nights at Freddy’s community were recently treated to a trailer for Mega Cat Studios’ upcoming single-player 2D adventure game, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit. This game is based on the first short story from the Fazbear Frights novel series of the same name. The trailer, along with additional gifs and images released on the Mega Cat website, generated a lot of excitement, especially with a scene depicting the Missing Children Incident – a significant event in FNaF lore.

The Missing Children Incident (MCI) is a series of sinister murders that took place at a Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza location, presumably in 1985, committed by William Afton. Fans are eager to see Afton’s crimes portrayed in this game, as the level of brutality shown in the trailer is not commonly seen in games. While the gore level in this scene may not be extreme, it still hints at a darker tone than previous games in the franchise. The imagery leaves much to the imagination and has sparked discussions online about the need for more horror and gore in the FNaF series.
