Cubicle 7 has revealed plans for a new edition of the Talisman Adventures RPG. The tabletop roleplaying game is based on the Talisman board game owned by Games Workshop. Details about the game system and release date have not been shared yet. The previous edition of the game was released by Pegasus Spiele in 2021, but no new material has been published since late 2022 according to Pegasus Spiele’s website.
This announcement signals a resurgence for the Talisman franchise under Games Workshop. Earlier this year, a new edition of the game was released by Avalon Hill with updates aimed at enhancing accessibility and gameplay.
In the Talisman board game, players enhance their character’s strength and craft abilities to compete for the Crown of Command, a powerful artifact that can influence other players. The board is divided into three regions, with the Crown situated in the middle. Players must navigate through the regions, with access to the Inner region typically requiring a Talisman.
Despite maintaining traditional fantasy themes, the Talisman franchise has remained popular in board game history since its initial release in 1983. While the core gameplay has stayed consistent across editions, updates have refined the ruleset. Expansion packs have introduced new characters, locations, cards, and alternate win conditions.
