Question. Are y’all filing for copyright and/or trademark(s) prior to advertising any art, or prior to to publishing? At what point are you committing to filing for trademark(s) on your IPs?
I filled out for a copyright before submitting it to publishers.
I love the passion you bring into each talk and it's great listening to the both of you! Paul Catalanotto's story about that comic store resounds with me. Life is strange sometimes. I'm still drawing+writing. Chapter II is due finished on Dec 12th. I want to have 4-5 chapters done, before going public. It has changed and shaped my life around creating the project, and it feels great.
I wake up with drive and determination. I cancelled Netflix (months ago), I stopped smoking, started exercising, and I cook cheap+healthy. It's not just about drawing anymore. It's a Bushido kind of lifestyle, just focused on making comics ^^ (I'm still doing other stuff to not go insane, but it is important to me to follow my plan and come out with my comic around Easter '24.)
The one thing I learn from listening to Max' conversation is we are people driven by our ideas. And the more work we do, the more gets done. Life is work. In fact, I'm starting to think, getting rich is boring. We really earn through our work and dedication. Hopefully it will pay, but that's not my reason to do things any more.
