While Superman: Legacy is the only project to be named for production in 2024, James Gunn has confirmed at least one more is coming.
Coming in to 2024, we have been only given two definite DCU Projects: The animated Creature Commandos will debut on Max this year, and Superman: Legacy will begin filming in March for a 2025 release. While other projects were announced by Gunn and Safran in early 2023, we know nothing about these production schedules.
Recently, Gunn answered a fan question on social media to which he has also shared a screenshot of. “Will Legacy be the only DCU project to enter production this year?” Gunn’s simple reply was “Nope.”
There is no way of knowing if this means one project or multiple. Nor do we know if it’s any of the TV or film projects.
Here are the outstanding projects we don’t have info on yet.
The movies include:
The Authority
The Brave and the Bold
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow
Swamp Thing
The Television projects are:
Waller
Lanterns
Paradise Lost
Booster Gold
As to what project, or projects, it will be, we just don’t know yet. There is casting currently in progress for the role of Supergirl, but no director has been chosen for that project as of yet.
If we were to hazard a guess, it will be one of the television projects will also enter production this year, with Waller seeming likely. Those actors are already in place, and we know that the scripts have been written.
DC Studios has a lot on the plate at the moment, now it’s just time to get them all moving.
