Get ready for John Cena to go everywhere in the Peacemaker costume once again as the season 2 scripts are now complete.
James Gunn has confirmed via his Threads account that he has finished writing Peacemaker season 2. From previous postings, we know that the new season will consist of eight episodes.
There is no word as of yet as to when season 2 will go into production. Gunn is due to begin filming Superman: Legacy in March, and that will be dominating his time for the foreseeable future. While Gunn did direct five of the eight episodes of season 1, it’s easy to imagine he may hand all of this season over to other directors.
With the DC Universe about to launch, fans are asking how the new season will address the changeover. In a reply to a fan’s question, Gunn replied, “All I can say is what I’ve said before. Canon starts with Creature Commandos/Superman [Legacy]. As to how Peacemaker fits in, you’ll have to wait for that. But the first season is worth watching for a multitude of reasons.”
With no information as of yet to a production schedule, we can’t even begin to hazard a guess as to when the new season will debut. It does seem safe to say it will probably be some time in 2025, but which part of the year will be the tough part to nail down for a while longer.
