The popularity and sales of LEGO Marvel sets have declined in recent years, with fewer widely distributed sets and more expensive exclusives. However, The LEGO Group (TLG) is not giving up. The January 2024 LEGO Marvel sets include three major sets: a brick-built Rocket Raccoon, X-Men Blackbird Jet, and Spider-Man No Way Home Sandman Final Battle. While there are also smaller sets available, I will focus on the three sets that appeal to adult collectors. These sets can be found on Amazon, but I visited a local LEGO Store to see if they were displayed there. I found that only the Rocket & Baby Groot set was built and on display. This set, priced at $59.99 and containing 566 pieces, impressed me with its size, articulation, and details. For Spider-Man fans, the Spider-Man vs. Sandman: Final Battle set includes Minifigures of Lizard and Electro, along with a brick-built Sandman figure. Although the store did not have this set on display, I found it interesting. Priced at $37.99 for 347 pieces, this set is more reasonably priced compared to its predecessor. Lastly, the X-Men ’97 X-Jet set is priced at $84.99 for 359 pieces, which is higher than the ideal price per piece. This may be due to licensing costs and larger pieces. Despite the price, as a fan of the X-Men, I am excited to build this set. Have you purchased any of these new LEGO Marvel sets? Please share your feedback on the builds.
