After the scam NFT bombshell that was CryptoZoo was exposed last year, the primary face of the product, Logan Paul, promised he would make buyers whole by offering refunds, and here it is one year later.
On his official X (formerly Twitter) account that was formerly used to ‘rug pull’ botched crypto-currency — such as ‘Dink Doink’ — Logan Paul has finally announced that he will start issuing refunds to those who have purchased NFTs from the CryptoZoo game—as long as you don’t sue him.
A small recap for the uninitiated: since the turbulent 2021 launch of CryptoZoo, anytime anyone would even mention it, Paul would shy away and refuse to address the situation until a YouTube expose from popular creator CoffeeZilla came out and spilled all the beans regarding the bad faith nature of the entire project, and how not only millions of dollars was stolen from investors, but he included testimonials from the victims. The whole saga can be watched on the CoffeeZilla YouTube channel.
After the expose, Logan Paul responded, threatening CoffeeZilla with litigation based on defamation. It then took a few days for Paul to walk back his threat and issue an apology to CoffeeZilla, because the scam claims on CryptoZoo were based in fact (both, the apology video, and the initial threat video have been deleted). A post from CoffeeZilla outlines this, and it can be seen below.
Here we are almost a year later, and victims of CryptoZoo have finally gotten their wish, a way to refund their NFTs purchased from CryptoZoo, with a sea of terms and conditions that absolves Paul of responsibility in the whole matter.
