Last year, Hasbro introduced the 2021 New Fantastic Four Marvel Legends team with the debut of fully-articulated Franklin Richards and Valeria Richards figures. Now, Hasbro is revisiting the team by releasing the other half in their black and blue costumes! The Marvel Legends Fantastic Four Wolverine and Spider-Man 2-pack, part of the Wolverine 50th Anniversary line, is now available for order. Are these unique Spidey and Logan figures on your shopping radar?
While Empyre may not have been a standout Marvel crossover event, it did spawn some interesting off-shoots and tie-ins in 2021. One such story was featured in Fantastic Four Vol. 6 #21-22, penned by Dan Slott. With the original FF team off-world, Wolverine and Spider-Man teamed up with Franklin and Valeria Richards to handle a crisis on Earth. Though a short and somewhat obscure storyline, it introduced some cool new costumes for Wolverine and Spider-Man that hinted at potential action figure releases from Hasbro. Less than three years later, Peter and Logan are now available in 6” toy form!
While the Franklin & Valeria 2-pack may not have been a huge hit, this Wolverine 50th Anniversary set is expected to fare better. The vibrant blue and black costumes are eye-catching, especially for collectors who missed out on the first half of the New Fantastic Four team. Spider-Man, in particular, is likely to be a popular choice, as the FF version features a new color scheme based on the Amazing Fantasy Spider-Man mold, and is pin-less. With both halves of the team being released in quick succession, this new set may boost sales for the Franklin/Valeria pack and sell out at full price.
The Marvel Legends Fantastic Four Spider-Man and Wolverine set is currently available for pre-order, with a scheduled summer release date. While these may not be the most iconic versions of the characters, Marvel collectors may still be interested in adding this funky F4 pack to their collections.
