Capcom made the dreams of countless many come true when, during a Nintendo Direct in June, they unveiled the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection – Arcade Classics. Collecting every Capcom developed Marvel game from the 90s/early 00s – with the exception of the SNES exclusive X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse and Marvel Super Heroes in War of the Gems – about the only thing missing from the shocking announcement was a release date.
Over 2 months and another direct later, the Marvel vs. Capcom collection has a release date that is both very close and far away at the same time. For those who prefer the digital route, the compilation will arrive in a few short weeks on September 12th. Physical releases, however, will not come day-and-date and follow on November 22nd.
For those who are holding out for a physical copy – or will make it their 2nd, 3rd of 4th copy depending on your level of enthusiasm – your patience will be rewarded with an exclusive comic that includes a new art and story line. Capcom has stated these are limited, so you might want to pre-order if you haven’t already.
Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection – Arcade Classics arrives digitally on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC on September 12th. Physical editions follow for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on November 22nd.
