Is Michael Keaton done playing Batman? The famed actor is very much in the ‘never say never’ camp.
Keaton appeared on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, and the topic of Batman came up. He was asked briefly if he had seen any of the canceled Batgirl film, “I saw part of it.”
Asked if he feels like his time in Batman is officially done, Keaton was succinct, replying, “I don’t think about it much, you know. Never say never, I don’t think. Everything’s dependent upon something else I guess.”
Seeing as his time in the cape and cowl even came up at the Oscars this year, albeit for a bit of comedy, it’s clear that he will be forever associated with this role.
The part fans have been lobbying for, and has picked up even more steam as of late, is if he would take on the role of the older Bruce Wayne for a Batman Beyond film. A live-action film based in the future Gotham City would please more than a few fans of the late 1990s animated series.
Keaton will next appear in Knox Goes Away, and will return later this year in Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.
