Dealing with the frustration of trying to fix Xbox high packet loss today or tonight? You’re not alone. It seems that Xbox Live is experiencing issues for many users, and Microsoft’s Xbox Status website has not been very helpful so far.
“We are aware that some users have been disconnected from Xbox Live,” the official Xbox Support Twitter account stated at 11:55am PT / 2:55pm ET / 7:55pm BT. “We’re looking into it! Please stay tuned here and on our status page for updates.”
Currently, the status page, which was supposedly updated three minutes ago, is showing everything as normal for the US and UK. Account features, friends, streaming, cloud gaming, multiplayer – all are reported as functioning properly. However, that is not the case. That’s why we’re here.
Hopefully, the status page will be updated soon to provide more information on the issue and possibly an estimated time for resolution. Down Detector indicates significant problems with Xbox Live, including difficulty logging in.
Based on initial reports from Twitter, forums, and some of our own writers, it appears that the issue is mainly affecting users in the UK at the moment, but reports of problems in the US are also starting to surface, including my own inability to log in.
In the meantime, if you have already tried resetting your console, internet connection, and the troubleshooting steps for high packet loss, your best option now is to be patient.
Xbox recently announced a partnership with Amazon that allows Xbox Game Pass to be accessed on Fire TV without the need for a console, offering a low-cost and convenient option that may lead to connection issues like the current one.
