A board game adaptation is in the works for the popular TV show Only Murders in the Building.
Only Murders in the Building is set to become a board game. Funko Games, a division of Goliath Games, announced at Gen Con that they are creating a board game based on the hit Hulu series. An Amazon listing for the game describes players searching the Arconia, connecting clues represented by tiles on the board, and ultimately identifying the murderer in the building. The game is priced at $29 according to Amazon.
Only Murders in the Building is a well-received comedy/mystery series featuring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez as three residents of the Arconia who bond over their shared interest in true crime podcasts. After a resident is killed in the building, the trio become amateur detectives who start their own true crime podcast, with subsequent seasons revolving around more murders and their rise to media stardom. All three lead actors have received Golden Globe nominations for their performances on the show.
This game release is a significant move for Funko Games following its recent acquisition by Goliath Games. While Goliath now owns Funko Games and its portfolio of licensed games like Only Murders in the Building, the original designers of Funko Games were let go during the acquisition and later established their own game design studio.
