Plastic Man No More #1, by DC Comics on 9/4/24, marks the beginning of the end for DC’s most stretchable anti-hero as a deadly ray threatens to disintegrate him one molecule at a time.
Is Plastic Man No More #1 Good?
Plastic Man No More #1 is oddly disconcerting. While the premise seems intriguing at first glance, the conflicting tones disrupt the overall balance of the issue. A mix of serious drama and well-timed humor can work, but when these tones clash, it creates a jarring comic experience.
Plastic Man No More #1 starts with a brief backstory of Patrick “Eel” O’Brian as a former small-time criminal before gaining stretchy powers in a chemical accident. Writer Christopher Cantwell introduces some character development in the opening scene, setting the stage for Plastic Man’s journey.
