In this preview of The Bat-Man: First Knight #1, set in 1939, the world is still recovering from the aftermath of the First World War and is on the verge of another conflict. Fascism is gaining momentum, particularly in the darkest corners of America. In Gotham, a series of brutal murders has begun, and the appearance of the enigmatic vigilante known as The Bat-Man has instilled fear in the city’s power players, who fear for the collapse of their institutions. The murder investigation presents a perplexing mystery: the perpetrators are all deceased men who were executed in the electric chair. When The Bat-Man confronts one of these anomalies, he barely escapes with his life, raising doubts about his ability to navigate a rapidly changing and brutal world! Writer Dan Jurgens and artist Mike Perkins revisit the early days of the Dark Knight, reimagining one of his most notorious cases with a modern perspective, portraying a world gripped by fear and a desperate populace seeking salvation!
