Back in my 2017 review, I found the X-Men Legends Cyclops figure in the Warlock Series to be acceptable, despite its flaws, due to the lack of options for a Jim Lee Cyclops figure. However, in 2024, things have changed. We’ve seen many versions of Cyclops in this costume since then, but the newly-released X-Men 97 Marvel Legends Cyclops figure easily surpasses them all as the best Jim Lee Cyclops figure ever made…
When I reviewed the previous Hasbro single-packed 90s Cyclops ML figure back in 2017, I tried to overlook its flaws as it was the only recent Jim Lee costume Cyclops available at the time.
However, with the release of this new X-Men 97 Marvel Legends Cyclops figure, fans can now retire the older version, as it fixes all the issues of the previous figure and stands out as a superior representation of the character.
Despite being an animated style figure, this new Cyclops figure addresses all the issues of the previous one and fits well in a comics-based display. The design is comic book-y without being overly cartoonish, making it a versatile addition to any collection.
The addition of the angry head with optic blast effects Piece adds a new dimension to this figure, allowing for dynamic posing options. The figure is well-crafted with attention to detail, making it a standout addition to any collection.
The X-Men ’97 Cyclops figure excels in both aesthetics and articulation, meeting modern standards for Hasbro figures. With pin-less joints and a range of articulation points, this figure is a standout in the Marvel Legends line.
For fans of the Goblin Queen Madelyne Pryor figure, this Cyclops figure includes hands suitable for holding the baby Nathan accessory that comes with that figure.
The attention to detail in the paint and plastic, along with the quality of the figure’s construction, make this Cyclops figure a must-have for collectors. Hasbro has truly outdone themselves with this release.
