Seems like you did it right to me. That would have been a blast to do. Can't believe how much you've gone through in just about a year! Keep up the great work Mike.
Awesome job Mike I'm happy that you were able to help Andy sell his collection and looked like he had a blast. Strong Work Mike you are the best representation of what this community is all about…and awesome grabs too 👍
Great video. Good job on moving the collection. When I used to set up the majority of sales were to other dealers and usually done during setup. That Fu Manchu on your back wall sure looked sweet. I bet it went fast
Well done Mike. You're genuine enthusiasm is infectious. Great pic ups. Collecting only what you really love is to me the way to go. 👍
Enjoy your videos, but man it’s kinda bittersweet when I hear of a collector selling his books and getting out of the hobby, especially after 50 years of collecting. I always wondered what made him change his mind and what would I do if and when I decide to do the same thing. Plus, especially after staying as long as he did, would he regret doing so? I guess I get too attached to things, but I never tried to get into any type of collecting in order to make a profit. Anyway, good for him in his decision and I wish him the best.
Another great video. I’m not sure if you know this but your channel has transitioned from collecting comics in “strange and unusual places” to collecting comics and relationship building: friends, family, neighbors, other YouTube rs, fans, LCS owners and staff, etc and more. Which I think is wonderful because this is a hobby that is best enjoyed with others
Love that Aquaman.
Great video! Super entertaining and love seeing your pickups at the end. Cheers!
Nice thing you did for your friend. Shout out to you. Glad to see you got the cool Airboy and FF 73. The FF is one of my favorite covers of all time. Congrats.
Cardy covers are AWESOME!!!
You got some amazing books at a great price, but more importantly you obviously had such a great time! Very happy that Andy was able to sell nearly everything he wanted to get away from. Great video!
I wish I knew this was going on. I would have stopped by,
You're a good human. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Does Andy still have that Hulk 102 on the wall?
used to love finding double covers out in the wild… had 6 or 7 in my last collection
You need to come to Sacramento and go comic hunting!
I agree with you about that Aquaman cover. Very cool. Looking forward to seeing Black Manta in the 2nd Aquaman movie.
BIG MIKE IT WAS A PLEASURE FINALLY MEETING YOU @ CLIFF'S CON! I HAVE ENJOYED WATCHING THE CHANNEL FOR AWHILE NOW AND HAVE SINCE SUBSCRIBED. I APPRECIATE YOU FOR DROPPING OFF MY BOOK FOR JEFF (COMIC SPA) TO REVIEW. LOVE THE CONTENT YOU PUT OUT AND KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK AND HAPPY HUNTING! -PETE
Enjoyed the video, would love to go to a Comic Con in the USA, You have more Raw there, in the UK its all Slabbed 😢
Just picked up #49 yesterday ….. down to 24 XMen issues left….patchwork of #1 – #35 left!!!! Happy Hunting!!!!
Was that fantastic four you bought signed under spiderman? Bottom right corner
That was the coolest and most honest way to sell a collection. Splitting a table and letting him sell his own books was ingenious. You didn't play middle man and buy the collection for peanuts just to flip it. That was pretty friggen cool and you're a stand up guy.
God Bless America, I gotta get down to cliff con one of these days. It looks like a blast.
It’s cool to read the other post, of collectors out there.
Well done mike great to see your buddy andy sell his collection and looks like you guys had a fun time
Hey, Mike! Just curious, what happened at that auction for your Archie comic?
my son and went to this show for the first time it was awesome, we had tons of fun, it was really fun getting to talk to you and Andy really great books and really cool that we saw our selves in the video, can't wait to show my son this hahahahahah. as always love your videos and its a blast. thank you .
Long live the Quadrinity!
✊️
Just a great feel-good video! So glad you were able to help Andy out! Sounds like that was a very rewarding experience. So many great books at the convention and you came away with some great ones as well. Thanks for sharing! 🤘
Very impressive Andy was able to sell a large percentage of his collection. That normally doesn’t happen in one sale. Nice haul btw!
Great video. Aquaman cover is pretty spectacular!!
Great video and glad you had so much fun! The comic community has always been amazing. I would like to hear your thoughts about facsimiles in the industry and and how it may effect the value of key books in the future.
What an amazing act of kindness. It is very cool what you did to help your neighbor. Even though you did get a couple great books, including that Hulk 181 I still think it was amazing what you did.
Hey bud! Who’s the person selling Spawn foreign editions? I collect those n need some fillers he might have? Does he got YouTube or IG for contact? 🙏🏽
Great video
How did I miss this video until now 😂 and what's your favorite Coffee do you prefer a darker blend or something a bit weaker
Looks like you and Andy had an amazing time! That's so cool that someone bought all of those books from him. And I love that Aquaman cover. Black Manta is one of the best DC villains. Great haul and such a great thing you did helping a friend sell his collection.
So cool! I wish that I had a good comic store and or regular comic shows nearby. Of course I might go broke if I did have access to these shows! LOL Great video, it was fun to watch.
Love the Spawn #1 foreign printings; non-US versions of US comics is an area of collecting that's just starting to make a name for itself.
Uncanny Spider-Man? Nightcrawler as the new Spidey? No wonder I don't bother with 99% of current titles.
That Bernie Wrightson miniseries is truly excellent. It's 5 issues, #1-4 released by Pacific Comics and #5 by Eclipse after Pacific went under. The stories are reprints, mostly from Warren's Eerie and Creepy but in colour for the first time, and Steve Oliff's colouring is beautiful. Well worth tracking down.
Steranko's cover for X-Men #49 is a fine team-in-action image but the face, and especially the eyes, at the base of the art have always freaked me out.
Nick Cardy's covers around this time are quite stunning, real stop-and-look-twice pieces. "The Art Of Nick Cardy" by John Coates is a great showcase and retrospective of his work and includes a lot of his DC covers.
I started collecting comics again 4 months ago and really enjoy it for exactly the same things you say. I already have a huge toy memorabilia collection which is on display in my whole house every single room. I use to draw 30 years ago and because of my daughter finishing her degree in English literature and creative writing she got me into graphic novels again etc. I’m starting drawing again and re-kindling my graphic design background so keep an out for hopefully a new independent series next year me and my daughter from over the pond in the UK cheers 🍻
Recently started ŵatching your videos and very much enjoy them. Your enthusiasm is infectious. Ive been collecting off and on most of my life when money allows. My lcs recently put up an X-men #50 for sale, that you mentioned, in vg to f- condition. It is a nice looking green cover. Might have to grab it! Great deal are nice but go with your conscience.
Good afternoon Michael
The show was Great, but was far to short, but I was very happy that the mission was accomplished, the smiles were big happy ones, it has been a very enjoyable storyline , And the comics were mouth watering. Keep up the great work!
