Spotlight: Predator vs. Spider-Man #1.
For the first time ever, two of pop culture’s most iconic hunters share the spotlight in a mini-series that’s guaranteed to stir the speculative pot. Predator vs. Spider-Man #1 officially marks the inaugural head-to-head between Marvel’s web-slinger and the galaxy’s deadliest sport hunter in their own dedicated series. Sure, they’ve coexisted in crossover comics before, but never like this—never with this kind of narrative weight or investment-worthy buzz.
Set against a blackout-ravaged New York City, this issue opens with chaos erupting on the streets… and something much worse stirring in the shadows beneath them. With the city’s power grid down and crime surging, Spider-Man’s already got his hands full. But when reports start filtering in of mangled bodies and something not quite human stalking the sewers, Peter Parker realizes he’s dealing with more than your run-of-the-mill supervillain.
Enter Skinner—a new breed of Predator who clearly missed the day they taught restraint and honor at Yautja school. This isn’t your grandfather’s cloaked jungle stalker. Skinner is savage, impulsive, and unbound by the traditional Predator code. That makes him not only dangerous, but unpredictable—which is exactly what makes this match-up so compelling.
The creative team of writer Ben Percy (Wolverine, Ghost Rider) and artist Marcelo Ferreira (Moon Knight, Amazing Spider-Man) bring the heat with cinematic layouts, brutal pacing, and enough suspense to make even long-time collectors pay attention. Given the legacy of Predator crossover comics—and how they’ve risen in value over time—Predator vs. Spider-Man #1 could be a sleeper hit for those watching the speculation scene. Especially with a brand-new Predator introduced and the first official mini-series throwdown between the two legacy characters.
Whether you’re team wall-crawler or team intergalactic hunter, this book delivers on action, atmosphere, and potential long-term value. Just maybe think twice before venturing into any dark basements after reading.
