Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection servers are facing challenges, but solutions are on the horizon.
Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection was released earlier today. Fans of the iconic shooter were eagerly anticipating diving into an updated version of the game, especially with the inclusion of beloved multiplayer modes. However, their excitement quickly turned to disappointment as they noticed the game’s servers struggling to keep up. Players took to Steam to express their frustration through negative reviews due to the severe performance issues with Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection’s servers. In response to the overwhelming negativity, the developers at Aspyr shared a brief update outlining their plans to address the issues.

In their update post, Asypr stated, “We want to express our gratitude to the Battlefront community for their immense support and feedback on the STAR WARS™ Battlefront Classic Collection release. Unfortunately, at launch, we encountered critical issues with our network infrastructure, resulting in high ping, matchmaking errors, crashes, and server visibility issues. Since the launch, we have been diligently working to resolve these issues and enhance network stability, continuing our efforts until the network infrastructure is stabilized to prevent further disruptions.”
While the update did not specify a timeline for when Aspyr will implement new fixes for Battlefront’s servers, it does demonstrate their commitment to improving the situation. Given the popularity of the classic Battlefront games, it is expected that Aspyr will prioritize enhancing the multiplayer experience. Improving the servers could potentially boost sales for the Battlefront Classic Collection and foster trust among players for future releases.
This ongoing story is certainly one to watch in the coming weeks. Hopefully, Aspyr will take the necessary steps to satisfy players. Failure to do so could spell trouble for the project. It would be a disappointing outcome for a game that generated so much excitement among fans. Ultimately, actions will speak louder than words, and the community eagerly awaits to see how Aspyr progresses.
What’s Next For Star Wars?
Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is not the only Star Wars game set to release this year. Developer Massive Entertainment is currently developing Star Wars Outlaw, a third-person action-adventure game slated for later in the year. Set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Outlaw does not have a confirmed release date yet, but more details are expected to emerge soon.
Looking ahead, the Star Wars franchise has several announced games in development. Quantic Dream is working on Star Wars: Eclipse, Saber Interactive has taken over the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic from Aspyr, and Respawn is in the early stages of developing a third Star Wars: Jedi game.
