Warner Bros. Discovery has announced the Supergirl release date as she will fly into theaters on June 26, 2026.
It looks as though things are progressing on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow as the studio has announced a release date for the project. Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya, Cruella) has signed on to direct, and Ana Nogueira is handling the scripting. Milly Alcock has been cast in the role and will make her debut in Superman in 2025.
The plans are said to be to start shooting in the fourth quarter of the year when Gunn has wrapped on his Superman film.
The film will follow the 2021 comic of the same name that was written by Tom King and illustrated by Bilquis Evely. The story follows Supergirl on a space adventure with Krypto, the super dog, and is told from the perspective of Ruthye, a young alien Kara Zor-El meets during her adventure.
This is now the second film dated for the new DCU with the first being Superman on July 11, 2025. Both The Brave and the Bold and Swamp Thing are currently in development, but no release dates have been announced as of yet.
