Superman: Legacy is due to begin filming next week and the studio is ‘optimistic’ about the project.
During a Warner Bros. Discovery earnings call on Friday, CEO David Zaslav shared that Superman: Legacy will begin filming next week. He went on to say, “Bottom line, the studio has really been underperforming — including at the end of the year where we had some real struggle — but we’re very optimistic about this year, and it has given us the chance to have a lot of upside in the next two years.”
Previous reports had pointed to filming beginning in March, so the film may be running very slightly ahead of schedule.
Gunn gathered the cast in Atlanta this week for a table read of the script and then followed it up with a group photo of those in attendance.
The cast is set to include David Corenswet as Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. They will all be joined by Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, and María Gabriela de Faría as the Engineer.
Superman: Legacy will hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
