Will the Nintendo Switch version include local co-op?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is coming to the Nintendo Switch, and the game will offer various enhancements compared to the version released on Apple Arcade. In a recent interview with Nintendo Life, developer Super Evil Megacorp discussed some of the adjustments made to adapt the game for Nintendo’s console. The game’s UI has been redesigned to suit the console format, and players can expect upgraded lighting. Players can enjoy the game in single-player mode or online, with the option to join or leave sessions. During the discussion about online co-op, Tom Westhall, the director of product management, hinted at a new feature for the Switch version that has yet to be revealed.
“When we announced the game for the Switch, it was clear that players wanted one thing above all else – playing together. There’s something special about playing games together, and our studio’s goal is to create the best shared gaming experiences. Our mission was to ensure that Splintered Fate offers an amazing co-op experience. The team put in a lot of effort to deliver an experience that we are proud of (with a surprise still to come)! After testing it with some friends and family, we are excited to share the co-op experience with the world,” Westhall stated.
Later in the interview, Westhall mentioned that they had not initially planned on including a certain feature at launch, but due to popular demand, they decided to add it. While Westhall didn’t reveal the feature, it seems like it could be local co-op. Local co-op has been a key feature of TMNT games for years and has been included in recent TMNT games like Shedder’s Revenge. This aligns with the expectations of TMNT fans, as indicated by Westhall’s comments.
While it’s not confirmed whether local co-op will be available in the Switch version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate, more information should be revealed soon, as the game is set to release on July 17th. The Apple Arcade version received positive feedback, and hopefully, the Switch version will offer the ultimate gaming experience.
