The Batman: Part II is being delayed from Oct. 3, 2025 to Oct. 2, 2026, reportedly in part to the continuing recovery of the dual strikes.
According to a new report from Deadline, The Batman: Part II is making the move due to all of the delays caused by the writer and actor strikes that took place in 2023.
The industry as a whole is still trying to get its schedule corrected, and this move has been suspected to be on the way at some point.
The Batman was released on March 4, 2022, meaning that it will be more than four and a half years before we get the next entry in the film part of the series. Later this year we will be getting The Penguin on Max which will pickup about a week after the events of the first film, and is supposed to give us some insight into the potential plot of the second film.
We’ll have to wait and see what this also means for Bat related projects in the new DCU. The Brave and the Bold is currently in development, as well as a series set in Arkham Asylum. Hopefully we’ll hear more about both projects in the coming months as the studio shakes out its long-term schedule.
Replacing The Batman: Part II on the schedule will be The Bride starring Christian Bale, Jessie Buckley, and Peter Sarsgaard.
