Sci-fi audio fiction thriller A Better Paradise premieres June 10.
Andrew Lincoln, best known for his role as Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead universe, is set to star in his next project – an audio fiction series titled A Better Paradise Volume One: An Aftermath. This 12-episode series is created by the team at Absurd Ventures in collaboration with QCODE Media.
Lincoln recently reprised his role as Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, reuniting with his on-screen partner Danai Gurira. This marked their first on-screen appearance together since Grimes’ departure in season 9 of the popular series. In a promotional interview for The Ones Who Live, Lincoln shared insights about his return to the show, revealing that it took years of planning to make it happen.
“We’ve been working on it for a couple of years, brainstorming ideas in conference rooms in hotels,” Lincoln told Comicbook. “We wanted to create the most thrilling, emotional reunion possible, and we’re glad it came as a shock to the audience.”
What is A Better Paradise About?
“Set in the near future, A Better Paradise follows the story of a failed digital game-world project led by Dr. Mark Tyburn,” an official description explains. “As the project unravels and dark secrets are revealed, a dormant super-intelligence within the game world resurfaces, leading to unforeseen consequences.”
In addition to Lincoln, the series will feature Shamier Anderson, Paterson Joseph, Rain Spencer, and others. Created by Dan Houser, the founder of Absurd Ventures, A Better Paradise is the first release from the production company, promising a unique and immersive storytelling experience in the audio fiction medium.
QCODE CEO Rob Herting expressed excitement about partnering with Absurd Ventures, praising their storytelling prowess and the compelling universe created for A Better Paradise. The series is set to premiere on various audio platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Amazon Music, on June 10.
