Pawel Sasko, associate game director on the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, revealed that The Witcher 4 is the most advanced project currently in development at CD Projekt Red and its partners. Sasko discussed the upcoming games from CD Projekt Red on the Flow Games podcast, highlighting that The Witcher 4 is the most progressed among them.
While details on the upcoming games were sparse, Sasko mentioned that The Witcher 4 is slated to enter production later this year, indicating that it is further along in development compared to other projects like The Witcher 1 Remake, Cyberpunk 2, Project Sirius, and a new Witcher saga. Despite being the most advanced in terms of development progress, CD Projekt has not disclosed much about The Witcher 4’s gameplay or technology.
Sasko also mentioned that over 400 people are working on The Witcher 4, which is known internally as the Polaris project. Additionally, he noted that The Molasses Flood, an indie studio working on Project Sirius, is collaborating with CD Projekt Red in a new Boston studio, indicating the company’s support for the project.
CD Projekt Red has emphasized that The Witcher 4 will not be a rehash of The Witcher 3, promising to introduce new gameplay elements and mechanics to the RPG.
