ļ»æTitans #10 is a decent read. It may not be exceptional, but it’s not without its merits.
In the previous issue, Evil Raven intercepted Hermes, preventing him from warning Donna Troy about Raven’s true nature. Meanwhile, Trigon struck a deal with Amanda Waller to further their own agendas, with the details yet to unfold.
Trilogy, feeling overshadowed by Raven, obtains an enchanted staff that enhances his power, leading to a confrontation with the Titans. Unbeknownst to Trilogy, the staff was part of Trigon’s plan to provoke Evil Raven into embracing her darker side as the Dark-Winged Queen.
Evil Raven swiftly defeats Trilogy in battle, severing his arm and hiding the staff to prevent further chaos. She then banishes Trilogy to a wasteland dimension, secretly plotting his transformation into a crystal akin to the one holding Good Raven, inching closer to her dark destiny.
Meanwhile, Amanda Waller checks on T.O. Morrow’s latest creation, Vanadia, resembling a female Amazo with undisclosed abilities and motives.
What Stands Out in Titans #10? Despite the familiar theme of Raven’s internal conflict, Tom Taylor crafts a compelling narrative with solid pacing, engaging dialogue, and a sense of progression. The introduction of Morrow’s creation adds an intriguing layer to the story.
What Could Be Improved in Titans #10? The storyline lacks originality, retreading familiar ground with Evil Raven’s deception. Additionally, the lack of reaction from Raven’s teammates to her behavior diminishes the impact of Taylor’s character development.
How’s the Artwork? Lucas Meyer’s illustrations are serviceable, with strong composition and action sequences. However, the facial expressions could be more expressive, especially in dialogue-heavy scenes.
