Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans have been enjoying a feast of video games in recent years. From the excellent Shredder’s Revenge and The Cowabunga Collection to the upcoming Wrath of the Mutants, and not to mention the in-development adaptation of The Last Ronin.
Joining this impressive lineup is the latest game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed. Revealed in early September last year, Mutants Unleashed is from publisher Outright Games, known for their hit game of 2023. It serves as a sequel to the animated feature Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. The official synopsis reads:
“In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed, after finally being accepted into society and pursuing their dream of attending a regular high school, the Turtles’ newfound happiness is interrupted by a new wave of mutants causing unrest across New York City. Players control the four masked heroes, each with a unique playstyle, as they navigate the sewers and streets of New York. With an immersive world to explore above and below ground, fans can expect chaos and capers. Players can team up for two-player local co-op later this year.”
Outright Games’ previous DC output was developed by PHL Collective, but Mutants Unleashed comes from A Heartful of Games, who also collaborated with Outright on DreamWorks Dragons: Legends of The Nine Realms.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed is set to release later this year on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
