Marvel Studios is currently in the process of developing a 5th (and potentially final) Thor film. While Taika Waititi was initially set to direct, his busy schedule and rumors of other directors joining the project have raised speculation about the directorial position being open.
However, this may not be the case for long. In a recent interview with ComicBook.com while promoting his latest film Furiosa, Academy Award-winner George Miller expressed his interest in working with Chris Hemsworth, who plays the antagonist in the film.
When asked about the possibility of collaborating with Hemsworth on a superhero movie like Thor 5, Miller enthusiastically confirmed his willingness to do so.
Miller stated, “I would work with Chris on anything. I really would. He’s a wonderful actor. He’s got the full range, all the skills.”
He went on to praise Hemsworth’s versatility in being “athletic physically, emotionally, and intellectually.” A tweet from Phase Zero – MCU shared Miller’s openness to directing Thor 5 with Hemsworth after their collaboration on Furiosa.
Miller’s extensive career spans various film genres, and although his attempt at a superhero film was halted by Warner Bros. before production, the opportunity to direct a superhero film, especially with Hemsworth, would be a significant full-circle moment for him.
Considering Miller’s visionary approach to filmmaking, the prospect of him directing a Marvel movie has piqued curiosity among fans. Would you like to see Miller direct Hemsworth in Thor 5? Share your thoughts below!
