Fans were thrilled to learn that Giancarlo Esposito has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, it has been revealed what project he will be a part of.
According to Murphy’s Multiverse, Giancarlo Esposito will play an antagonistic agent of chaos in Captain America: Brave New World. Specific character details are being kept secret for now. Esposito joins a talented cast that includes Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Captain America, as well as Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Tim Blake Nelson, Shira Haas, Harrison Ford, and Liv Tyler.
Although plot specifics are under wraps, a glimpse of the film was shown at CinemaCon in April, featuring Harrison Ford’s Thunderbolt Ross enlisting Wilson’s help in rebuilding the Avengers. In another scene, Ross addresses a group of officials, some of whom become possessed. Among them is Carl Lumbly’s Isaiah Bradley, who teams up with Ford to combat the threat.
The movie is directed by Julius Onah, who co-wrote the screenplay with Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson. Captain America: Brave New World is scheduled to hit theaters on February 14, 2025.
