Welcome back to another edition of Indie Comics Showcase, where we highlight independent comics that are currently crowdfunding, crowdsourcing, or self-publishing. Every bit of support for these creators matters, from small pledges to larger contributions. Even if you can’t financially support them, sharing their projects with your friends and followers can make a difference. In this installment, we have some outstanding crowdfunding campaigns for you to check out and support. Let’s dive in!
First up is Fumigator, a dystopian sci-fi comic set in a nightmarish Havana, Cuba. The city is plagued by nanobots that cause monstrous mutations, and the Fumigator Corps, made up of social outcasts, is the only solution the failed state has to combat the pandemic. The main character, Jose, is an old and bitter fumigator who must confront the worst day of his life. This color comic is perfect for fans of sci-fi, terror, cyberpunk, and dystopian stories, as well as those interested in unique Latin American narratives.
Next, we have Horror Show, a 48-page full-color graphic novel that follows a Vietnam vet with a violent past. He finds himself facing a real-life monster in a world unaware of the supernatural. The story explores the battle between the man inside the monster and the monster inside the man. With art by DC Comics legend Darryl Banks, this mature horror comic is filled with chilling action.
Lastly, we have Lords of LA, a vampire story set in 1950s Hollywood. Two ancient vampire crime families, Don Cainella and Don Abellino, have moved their operations to Los Angeles. They encounter a half-Asian lounge singer named Lena Morgan, whose life is forever changed when she is turned into a vampire. Sixty years later, Lena returns to Los Angeles with a plan for vengeance, disrupting the vampire families’ operations. This comic combines elements of crime, drama, and horror, offering a fresh take on the vampire genre.
All of these comics are currently crowdfunding, and your support can make a difference in bringing these projects to life. Whether you back them financially or help spread the word, every bit of support is appreciated. Thanks for being a part of Indie Comics Showcase!
